Where else in the British Isles can you stand on a tee and view England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales ?

The key to successful golf course design begins with the location. This is where Mount Murray immediately strikes a considerable advantage over many of the finest golf courses in Britain and Europe.

The views are spectacular. The rolling hills of the typically unspoilt Isle of Man are much in evidence around the course, as are, on a clear day, the distant hills of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

This in itself is reason enough to play. But the location is just the beginning. The course itself is superbly designed and offers a challenging round to golfers of all levels. Lush green trees, light and dense rough, contoured fairways all play their part in giving every golfer a memorable round - nearly always for the right reasons.

The course is a par 73 with the most challenging hole being the 18th. This is also the signature hole and a par 5 with a testing third shot over the lake in front of Mount Murray Hotel. The 6715-yard course has 6 par 5s and 5 par 3s and will test the beginner through to the very best of players. The 19th hole will be a welcome respite from the challenges of the course and you will find great food and perhaps a beer or two in the friendly atmosphere of the Sports Bar.

A 24-bay driving range is also available, with 12 of the bays covered so that you can continue playing in inclement weather. Two P.G.A. golf professionals, Andrew Dyson and Andy Patterson, are at hand to help with your improvement and enjoyment of the game. Private lessons may be arranged on request. The facilities also include 2 excellent practice putting greens and a practice pitching area. Call 01624 695308 to book tee times.

Three all weather tennis courts, bowling green, five squash courts, and a purpose-built sports hall for teams events, make the Mount Murray Hotel and Country Club the very best the Isle of Man has to offer golfers and sports enthusiasts.
